We collaborate on Equinix’s new data centre in Barcelona (Spain)
We are pleased to announce our participation in the innovative Equinix project, which has opened a new data centre in Barcelona. This centre will become a technological pillar for digital connectivity in Europe, powering the infrastructure needed to meet the growing demand for digital services.
Equinix has expanded its infrastructure in Barcelona with the opening of the BA2 Data Center in Hospitalet de Llobregat, after an investment of 52 million euros. This new centre complements the operations of BA1, strengthening the digital ecosystem of the city. With a surface area of 2,500 square metres and a power of 3.41 MW, the facility will operate with 100% renewable energy and seeks to obtain LEED certification. It will also become a strategic connection point for data communications between Europe, Africa and the Middle East, favouring the mooring of submarine cables in the region.

Inpro projects in collaboration with Equinix
Inpro has carried out the manufacture, design and supply of the systems and control for the transfer of fuels in the emergency back-up power supply system (backup) to the generator sets of the CDP Data Center BA2 Barcelona of Quinix, to guarantee the uninterrupted supply of electricity.

These systems ensure a reliable and continuous power supply to their data centres, essential to maintain uninterrupted operation in critical situations. The inauguration ceremony was attended by authorities, who underlined the importance of the project for the region. Cristina Santón, deputy mayor for the Transforming City area of l’Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council.
