Strategic alliances are promoted for the growth of the Data Centre industry in Mexico

A collaborative future for a stronger industry

The Mexican Data Centre Association (MEXDC) has taken a decisive step towards strengthening the data centre industry in Mexico and Latin America. In the framework of the DCD>Connect Cancun 2024 event, the MEXDC has led a workshop where the collective effort of all its associates to consolidate the industry in the region was highlighted.

Projected growth of the Data Centre industry in Mexico

A market study by MEXDC estimates that, by 2029, direct investment in the data centre market in Mexico will reach USD 9.192 billion, while indirect investment will exceed USD 27.576 billion. This growth reflects the importance of the sector for the country’s digital transformation and its role in global competitiveness.

The news of the event has been published in several digital portals of Data Centres, such as DCD DYNAMICS  www.datacenterdynamics.com.

During the event, Amet Novillo, president of the MEXDC, shared his views on the opportunities and challenges facing the technology industry in Mexico and Latin America. “Digital growth is directly related to the strength and modernisation of the data centre industry,” he said. This perspective drives the MEXDC to develop strategic alliances that will allow us to face these challenges and take advantage of the opportunities.

The impact of alliances in the data centre sector

In its commitment to unify efforts, the MEXDC signed a letter of intent with Infrastructure Masons (iMasons), a global non-profit organisation that brings together experts in digital infrastructure. Both associations have committed to work together on talent development, education, inclusion and sustainability, which are fundamental pillars for a more prepared and robust industry.

These strategic alliances seek to consolidate Mexico as a leader in the data centre industry in Latin America, preparing it for future challenges and fostering sustainable and globally competitive growth.

MEXDC and iMasons are committed to building a prosperous digital future for Mexico and the region. Together, they will work on initiatives that strengthen the industry, boost competitiveness and promote a sustainable basis for growth.
